For general food shopping in Salcombe, supermarkets are the ideal place to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Up until very recently, Salcombe only had the Spar at the top of town as its first foray into the world of supermarkets this is the site of the only Post Office in Salcombe too.

In the summer of 2019 the Co-op came to Salcombe, on the site of the old gas works at the end of Island Street.
