(Reconstructed to its former glory following a devastating fire in 1990’s.) Visit the town’s motte-and-bailey castle and the market square with its regular craft and food markets every Friday and Saturday morning. Shopping in Totnes is a dream. The narrow streets are lined with eclectic independent shops. Check out the sustainable department store for artisan crafts, homeware and locally made clothes. There’s even a cafe instore so stop for an Italian coffee and pastry.
