Sleeping ten across five beautifully styled bedrooms, Salt Meadow has room for everyone without ever feeling crowded. Light spills through the house, while generous living spaces invite long, lazy mornings and evenings spent together after salt-air adventures. There are quiet corners to curl up with a book and plenty of space for the whole party to gather, making it just as lovely for multi-generational family holidays as it is for a long-awaited escape with friends.

The kitchen and dining spaces sit at the heart of the home, made for leisurely breakfasts around the table, seafood suppers and bottles opened as evening drifts in. On warmer days, take life outside, fire up the barbecue and settle in for long lunches and summer evenings in the garden. When the temperature drops, retreat indoors, light the woodburner and sink into the sofas for a cosy evening together.

Beyond the house, the gardens bring another layer of country calm , although there’s plenty of fun to be had too. Challenge the family to a game of croquet on the lawn or a lively table tennis tournament, while children play and four-legged guests explore the garden. Doggies are very much part of the holiday at Salt Meadow, with their own treats waiting on arrival to make them feel suitably welcome. Upstairs, further spacious bedrooms are light, restful and wonderfully inviting, while three large bathrooms in this home mean there’s plenty of room for everyone to prepare for the day ahead. The main bedroom is particularly special, opening onto its own private balcony overlooking the garden. Slip outside with a morning cup of tea, listen to the birdsong and breathe in the country air while the rest of the house slowly begins to stir, a lovely little ritual to start the day.

And then there is the location. From Salt Meadow, some of the loveliest South Hams days can begin on foot. Wander through winding country lanes towards beautiful South Milton Sands for breakfast by the beach, before padding across the sand or joining the South West Coast Path for a day of exploring. Thurlestone Rock rises from the water nearby, while hidden coves, sweeping headlands and glorious sea views make this stretch of coastline endlessly tempting.

Return home with sandy toes, windswept hair and perhaps a sleepy dog or two. There might be time for one last croquet challenge before the barbecue is lit, or on chillier evenings, gather around the warmth of the woodburner and make plans for tomorrow’s adventures.
