Best South Devon Days Out
South Devon is a great place for a holiday, whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned visitor, you’ll soon discover there’s something for everyone.
Little Dartmouth
This circular walk starts and finishes in Little Dartmouth and it’s one of our favourites! This four mile coastal stretch is stunning and showcases the most awesome views over Start Bay, towards Start Point Lighthouse and Dartmouth. Take a stroll in the spring or summer time to see the coastal fauna and flora at its best and for easier access to the secret coves accessible enroute.
Dartmouth to Sugary Cove
Dartmouth to Sugary Cove is a relatively easy stroll. This remote, rocky secluded cove is the perfect spot to escape the crowds. The beach is open all year round and it’s dog friendly too. Sugary Cove is a great place for a spot of wild swimming but becomes completely cut off at high water so check tide times before visiting.
Dartmouth to Greenway
Take a walk on the wildside from Dartmouth to Greenway - look out for herons, seals, wading birds on the river and, if you’re lucky you may even spot a roe deer or two!
Dartmouth town centre to Dartmouth Castle
A beautiful stroll from Dartmouth town centre to Dartmouth Castle has to be on every visitor's to-do list. Claimed to be one of the “most beautifully located fortresses in England”, Dartmouth Castle stands proud, guarding the entrance to the River Dart and the town.
