Land Overview

Tucked away at the head of a peaceful tidal creek on the Salcombe estuary, Land offers a wonderfully relaxed escape where coast and countryside meet. Just across from the much-loved Millbrook Inn, this beautifully refurbished home combines the ease of self-catering with the added pleasure of exceptional food, warm hospitality nearby and a truly special Devon village setting.

Designed with comfort in mind, the cottage provides a calm and inviting space to unwind, with thoughtfully styled light filled interiors and high-quality finishes throughout. A fully fitted kitchen and dining area for up to eight guests. Bedrooms are restful and well-appointed, featuring handcrafted beds dressed in Egyptian cotton, alongside ensuite bathrooms with soft robes, fluffy towels and luxury toiletries.

Days here are best spent outdoors, whether setting off on scenic walks from the doorstep, exploring the estuary, or simply soaking up the peaceful surroundings. The cottage is also dog friendly, making it an ideal choice for those wishing to bring their four-legged companion along. For a peaceful morning coffee head to your private garden space behind the cottage and listen to natures soundtrack.

As evening draws in, the famous Millbrook Inn awaits just across the road, offering organic, locally sourced dishes, excellent wine and a welcoming atmosphere by the fire or beside the brook. Afterwards, return to the cottage for a restful night’s sleep, ready to wake refreshed for another day in this quietly beautiful corner of the South Hams.

Land is in the idyllic village of South Pool, in the beautiful South Hams.We’re within easy reach by road from Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Totnes, or you can e-bike or walk from Salcombe. At high tide it’s just a short cruise up the South Pool creek from Salcombe or Kingsbridge.

We had the most wonderful stay at Land, a truly indulgent weekend from start to finish. Days were spent wandering the peaceful country lanes, before hopping on a friend’s boat and heading over to Salcombe for a change of pace. Returning to South Pool each evening felt like a real retreat, especially with such a gorgeous meal waiting for us at the Millbrook just across the road. It’s a very special hidden gem that we can’t wait to return to.
