After a very successful first year, the Salcombe Live Festival is back! This second annual weekend festival will be held in various venues across Salcombe on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd October 2021. You will not want to miss this weekend full of live music, including acoustic, folk, Americana and jazz, as well as comedy and entertainment.

This year, there are up to 50 live performances planned across a number of venues in the town. Some of the confirmed participating venues are The Kings Arms, The Fortescue Inn, The Victoria Inn, The Ferry Inn, Salcombe Harbour Hotel, Cafe Sailor V, The Distillery Bar, South Sands Hotel and the Island Street Deli. The best part is that entry to all the live shows over the weekend is free of charge.

The organisation team of the festival will reveal more details as the date approaches, but if you want to stay updated regularly, you can follow Salcombe Live Festival on Facebook and Instagram

Although not all the details have been revealed, we already know some of the names of the artists that you will be able to see this year. You can take a look at the full list of the first confirmed artists in this year’s line-up

Here are some of our favourite ones:

Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman

Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are husband and wife and the team twice past winners of the Radio 2 Folk Award for ‘Best Duo’. Theirs will be the headline show that will conclude the festival on the evening of Sunday 3rd October, and it’s one not to be missed! Please note that, although the entry to all the live shows over the weekend is free, you will have to purchase a ticket for this show.

Emily Barker

Emily Barker is a Bafta award-winning singer-songwriter. She wrote and performs the theme to the BBC’s crime drama Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh. At Salcombe Live Festival she will be accompanied on stage by her husband, the multi-talented musician Lukas Drinkwater.

Emily has released music both as a solo artist and with various bands, and she has even composed soundtracks for films, including Jake Gavin’s debut Hector.

Visiting Salcombe in October

Salcombe is much more than a town for the summer. Late September and the beginning of October is one of the best times of the year to come and enjoy the town and its incredibly beautiful surroundings without the crowds of the summer. After those busy summer months, this time of the year offers you the possibility to feel like a local during your holidays.

Besides the Salcombe Festival, you will also enjoy having all of the fascinating South Devon Area of Natural Beauty at your doorstep.
