The Wood Overview

In a matter of minutes, you can be exploring the town's vibrant harbour, where fishing boats and yachts bob on the water, and the pace of life slows to a relaxed coastal rhythm.
For beach lovers, South Sands Beach is a stroll or short drive away, Golden sands and crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming, sunbathing or relaxing with your holiday novel. The sheltered waters are ideal for paddleboarding and kayaking, all available to hire from Bo's Beach cafe on the beach. Or hop onto the pretty ferry for a scenic trip into Salcombe town.
Entering the house through a spacious and welcoming hall immediately sets a tone of understated elegance. Steps lead down to the expansive open plan living area with large terraced windows bathing the room with natural light. Sink into the plush chairs, light a fire or curl up for those intimate chats. It is a space for quiet evenings or lively gatherings where you can open the doors to the terrace for that fresh evening air.The dining area is centred around a large farmhouse table that comfortably seats all guests and visiting friends. Whether you’re enjoying a casual breakfast or a special dinner, this super space will be the heart of family gatherings. The open plan kitchen with top of the range appliances and a beautiful aga holding centre stage, make it a hub for the family chef preparing all the local seafood on offer to delight everyone.
Just off the kitchen, the utility room is equipped with laundry facilities, extra storage, an additional dishwasher and a huge walk in shower for the post beach cleans and a place to hang those sandy wetsuits - all the swimwear from your busy day on the beach can be safely stored out of sight here. On this floor you will find a zip link twin room in a quiet corner of the house.
Heading up to the first floor, the master suite is a luxurious retreat. Large windows frame breathtaking views of the surrounding woodland, bringing a sense of calm to the space. The en-suite bathroom is a spa-like haven, featuring a deep soaking tub, rainfall shower, and elegant fixtures. Further bedrooms on this floor include one king size with en-suite shower room, one single, perfect for teens or elderly relatives, two super king, both with en-suite shower rooms, that can be adapted into twin beds if required. On this floor there is a large family bathroom for the single room and lower ground floor room. Little ones will love family bath time fun in this bright and airy space.
The second floor has a glorious room with four single beds, perfect for those little ones to share family holiday sleepovers together or teens who like a like an undisturbed lazy morning in bed. An en-suite shower room evokes the feeling of a pied a terre. This room has a TV with Sky and Apple TV and a sofa.
The Wood’s outdoor spaces are as thoughtfully designed as its interiors. The expansive terrace, accessible from the living area, is perfect for alfresco dining with a huge table for guests and friends -morning coffees and starlit suppers are all so special here. Stylish outdoor loungers and sofas overlooking the gardens and that special view will make it difficult to venture indoors. The lower terrace has a full sized ping pong table under the shelter of the canopy, many family tournaments will be sure to happen here. A further dining table for 10 and a charcoal barbecue are situated on the side terrace, master your barbecue skills here and try the fabulous meat from the local family Salcombe butcher in town.
The landscaped garden wraps around the property, providing a natural backdrop of mature trees and lush greenery. Pathways invite you to explore the natural beauty that surrounds The Wood and wander down to the public footpath below. The house is also in walking distance to Salcombe town, with a stunning 20 minute walk along the coastline, passing through pretty North Sands en route.
