Murrawingi Overview

Murrawingi (meaning happy home in Aboriginal) is an elegant four-bedroom escape set on Salcombe’s exclusive Moult Road, an address synonymous with breathtaking views and coveted coastal living. Thoughtfully designed on a single level, the house embraces its surroundings with a curved terrace that runs the full length of the property, ensuring every moment is accompanied by a cinematic sea view.

From sunrise coffees to sunset suppers, the terrace will become the heart of your stay, complete with stylish dining furniture, comfortable loungers, and a large parasol for long afternoons of relaxation. The view stretches across Salcombe’s sandy beaches, out towards the open sea, with yachts gliding in and out of the harbour below. A private footpath at the edge of the garden leads you directly down to South Sands beach within minutes, where calm waters and two beachside hotels await for swimming, paddling, and fresh seafood.

Inside, Murrawingi’s interiors are light-filled, modern, and made for entertaining. The open-plan living and dining area is a welcoming space to gather, with sliding doors that blur the boundaries between inside and out. A sleek, fully-equipped kitchen comes with a hidden coffee station and one of Salcombe’s most enviable windows, folding right back to let you serve up drinks and nibbles to guests on the terrace, or perhaps a locally distilled gin and tonic at golden hour. A wood-burning stove and even a jukebox add a touch of character for cosy evenings together.

Each bedroom has been designed for rest and retreat. The master suite, with its super king bed, opens directly onto the terrace and offers uninterrupted views across Sunny Cove and the Salcombe Bar. Two further sea-view rooms (one king, one double) are equally captivating, while the peaceful twin room provides a haven for children after long beach days. Two beautifully tiled shower rooms with rainfall showers make post-swim rinses a pleasure, and a well-equipped utility room ensures practicality matches the luxury.

  • There are steps around the internal and external areas of the property.
  • Please note that the driveway which can accommodate two cars at the bottom is very steep. You can either park at the bottom of the driveway (we recommend reversing down) or you can choose to park along the quiet road at the top of the driveway.
  • Travel cot and high chair unavailable
  • From the terrace there is access to the steep garden below. For that reason, this house may not be suitable for young children.
  • Allergies: dogs have been in this holiday home.
