Soak up the sublime atmosphere of this stylish waterside cottage and enjoy a memorable stay filled with breathtaking views. Sleeping up to 6 guests, 2 Clifton place is surrounded by water on three sides that make you feel like you’re floating! From your private balcony overlooking Salcombe Harbour and the Southpool Creek, you can savour delicious morning tea or coffee as you take in these amazing vistas.

Entering the cottage into the open plan kitchen and living space, you’ll find the AGA inside to keep you cosy, and a dining area with views of the water out of every window. Watch the world go by on the harbour, and keep your eyes peeled in case the Salcombe Lifeboat heads out on a shout.

The cottage has easy access to the lower balcony directly from the kitchen. It is complete with a running mooring and a fixed mooring at the front which is great for those with their own boat. Additionally, there is a Weber Gas BBQ and seating area as well as an outdoor shower perfect for washing salty bodies after enjoying time on the water throughout the day.

Also on the ground floor is a comfortable double bedroom with picturesque views of water when the tide is in. And a second bedroom has twin beds, and both bedrooms can access a convenient shared shower room.

Upstairs, you’ll be able to take in breathtaking views from your wraparound balcony. Here, you can relax and unwind in two sun hammocks that are set up perfectly for soaking up some vitamin D with an afternoon nap or a good book. When the time comes to entertain friends or family, this living space affords an incredible setting right on the waters edge as if you’re on board your own personal yacht!

The master bedroom (on the second floor) in this home is a stunning space, with a king size bed and views out across the estuary. Cleverly designed with a one-way mirror for privacy, it also has its own dressing area plus access to a delightful bathroom with a free-standing bath.

Parking Information

The owners have provided 1 x parking permit for the long stay car park in Salcombe. Creek Car Park is in operation 1st April - 30th September; use Shadycombe Car Park outside these dates. Please ensure you return the permit to the property at the end of your stay.

For any additional parking, there is free parking along Devon Road - spaces are not guaranteed but usually you can find something given a little patience! If you head along Devon Road (going towards North Sands rather than the end closer to town), there are some spaces under the trees which are not time restricted.

We absolutely loved 2 Clifton Place! We’ve stayed in a fire few properties in Salcombe over the years and this is far and away THE BEST!! It was absolutely heaven. The mega weather helped but the location, the decks, the decor - all just incredible. Being able to jump out of bed, skip down the steps and launch ourselves into the water for a swim or climb onto our boat was so spoiling. Just an utterly fabulous holiday, one of the best we’ve ever had in Salcombe. Actually THE best!! Without a doubt 5 stars We were sad to leave

We had an amazing week staying at 2 Clifton Place. The location is perfect, being so close to town and so close to the water! The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The weather was not great, so the Aga provided a warm welcome! Amazing cottage, and we have already booked for next year! I would definitely give this property 5 stars.

What is coasteering? Coasteering is a sport that combines different elements including cliff scrambling, sea swimming, jumping, and navigating rocky shorelines. It's essentially coastal climbing - fusing the words 'coast' and 'mountaineering' the term is a pretty accurate description of the activity. Festivities on the water The water plays a pivotal role in the festivities, providing both the backdrop and much of the entertainment. Watch the action unfold or get involved in the harbour swim, greasy pole, raft races, mud races and more. The Island Street Party takes place on the first Sunday of the regatta bringing live music, food, drink, family activities and stalls selling local goods, while the week draws to a memorable close with a torch-lit lantern procession on the water followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the estuary. Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta: Sailing at its finest A more specialist occasion, but one that everyone who visits Salcombe can take enormous pleasure in watching, is the Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta - usually in the last week of July. For sailing enthusiasts, this thrilling week of competitive racing in one of the country’s most scenic natural harbours is a truly special occasion, and certainly the events are a sight to behold. Organised by the Salcombe Yacht Club, the regatta attracts experienced sailors and spectators as the estuary comes alive with yachts, dinghies, yawls, and more, racing across the water, creating a mesmerising scene against the green hills and sandy beaches. Visitors can watch the racing from the waterfront and nearby beaches while soaking up the maritime atmosphere, in an event that reflects Salcombe’s long-standing sailing heritage. More than sailing Beyond the regattas themselves, summer in Salcombe is the stuff that Pinterest boards are made of, offering plenty to enjoy, from natural scenery to local attractions. Beautiful beaches like North Sands and South Sands are perfect for swimming, paddleboarding and relaxing in the sun, while the South West Coast Path provides wonderful walks with panoramic sea views.
