Salcombe Ice Cream
There really is just one ice-cream we need to talk about, and that is produced in Salcombe by Salcombe Dairy Ice-cream! It has won lots of awards and you simply must try an ice-cream to understand the hype. Their most popular flavour is honeycomb, but we also love their stem ginger, mint choc chip and Salcombe mud flavours.
You can find the factory along Island Street, and a Salcombe Dairy ice-cream parlour in the centre of town opposite the butchers. Salcombe Dairy makes the most delicious tasting ice-cream in the world (of course we’re not biased!) and it is produced in Salcombe using milk that comes straight from the farm first thing each morning. The double cream used comes from the creamery in mid-Devon.

Award Winning Ice Cream
Salcombe Dairy have been winning awards every year for the past 5 years. Their latest achievement is a 3-star rating where 25 experts unanimously agreeing that the product tastes divine. This year Salcombe Dairy even went one better to be included in the Top 50 Foods in Britain! And if you taste just one flavour – honeycomb – you will understand.
And Salcombe Dairy Ice-cream has earned some air miles. Not only is it on the menu at the Dorchester Hotel in London, it flies as far as New Zealand and Singapore on both countries national airlines!
Prince Charles the Prince of Wales and Camilla Duchess Of Cornwall visited Salcombe on July 11th 2011 and we were there to witness it. Not only did they have a pint in the local, but Camilla even tried the Salcombe Dairy Ice-cream!
