Schoolhouse, Mothecombe
You can’t miss this Italian inspired cafe/restaurant and takeaway, you’ll pass it on your way down to the beach. The schoolhouse is the little sister of the beachhouse at South Milton which some of you may have visited. This laidback restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and also hosts summer barbecues, foodie feasts and live music throughout the summer months. They also offer takeaways.
The Ship Inn, Noss Mayo

This historic village pub sits in the heart of Noss Mayo, just a short drive from Holbeton. The delightful village of ‘Noss’ lies on the southern side of the tidal River Yealm estuary and with some lovely trails to explore, it’s the perfect spot for a walk and lunch. The Ship is very popular with both locals and visitors. Book a table for dinner in the panelled library or dine alfresco on the waterside terrace. Tuck into the day boat fish or a Sunday roast with a carefully chosen glass of wine or one of the craft beers.
Rose & Crown, Yealmpton

The Rose & Crown is an elegant village pub on the A379 as you drive towards Plymouth and just 3 miles from Holbeton. Interiors are rich and opulent and the perfect place to laze away a couple of hours over lunch or dinner. Dine on pan roasted pigeon breast, moules frites and an Aberdeen Angus burger with black garlic mayo. The pub stocks award-winning beers and has an excellent wine cellar. Relax into one of the deep sofas by the roaring fire in the depths of winter or dine alfresco with a summer sundowner on the terrace.
