This traditional pub is right next to the historic Bayards Cove. The Royal Castle Hotel

You can’t miss it! Probably the most iconic building, dating back to the 17th century The Royal Castle Hotel sits in an enviable location opposite the boat float in Dartmouth. The hotel is charming with a stylish bar, a restaurant and a great atmosphere. There’s an excellent choice of beers and wines and the food is pretty good too. The chefs use local ingredients in their pub classics and seasonal specials, perfect for a spot of lunch or relaxing with a drink beside the roaring fire in the winter. The George & Dragon

The George & Dragon is one of the most popular pubs in Dartmouth. Interiors are eclectic, a mix of traditional and contemporary; it’s also got the only beer garden in Dartmouth so perfect for alfresco dining! The extensive menu is made up of traditional British pub food and seaside favourites using west country meats and locally landed seafood (many of the fishermen are customers!) The decor is fascinating and retains many original features including hand drawn wall paintings showing Dartmouth’s maritime history. Reasonably priced menu, perfect for children and dogs.
