School House, Mothecombe

You can’t miss this Italian-inspired cafe/restaurant and takeaway, you’ll pass it on your way down to the beach. The school House is the little sister of the Beach House at South Milton which some of you may have visited.

This laidback restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also hosts summer barbecues, foodie feasts and live music throughout the summer months. They even offer takeaways!

The Ship Inn, Noss Mayo

This historic village pub sits in the heart of Noss Mayo, just a short drive from Holbeton. The delightful village of ‘Noss’ lies on the southern side of the tidal River Yealm estuary and with some lovely trails to explore, it’s the perfect spot for a walk and lunch. The Ship Inn is very popular with both locals and visitors. Book a table for dinner in the panelled library or dine alfresco on the waterside terrace. Tuck into the day boat fish or a Sunday roast with a carefully chosen glass of wine or one of the craft beers.

Your local Holbeton family run pub prides themselves on their home cooking and local Devon Ales and ciders. Dine alfresco and relax on the terrace with beautiful views over the village or cosy up by the woodburner in the cooler months. Step inside and relax on the sofa in front of the fire with one of their award-winning craft beers. The food is a cut above with an exciting menu including crab, duck, pigeon and sides of lobster butter fries as well as traditional Sunday roasts and fish and chips. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. The Swan Inn, Noss Mayo Perfect for a pint and supper after a day on the water. Why not chill out on the waterside terrace and dine on the freshest fish? The Swan Inny even supplies outside heaters, blankets and hot water bottles for a cosy night's dining if you need them! The Dolphin, Newton Ferrers This traditional village pub overlooks the River Yealm and across to Noss Mayo. With home cooked dining and an excellent selection of local beers, ciders and speciality gins, it’s perfect for a lunchtime pit stop.
