3 The Boatyard Overview

Set along the tranquil curve of Kingsbridge’s estuary, 3 The Boatyard is a handsome waterside townhouse where calm tides meet elegant interiors. Arranged across three generous floors and served by a private lift, this contemporary coastal retreat offers four beautifully appointed bedrooms, making it the perfect escape for families or friends seeking a coastal stay in style.

With private parking for two cars and ramp access, 3 The Boatyard is as practical as it is polished.

Inside, you’ll find space to relax. The heart of the home lies on the first floor - a bright, open-plan kitchen and large dining space, designed for togetherness and entertaining. Sliding doors lead to a private balcony, where morning coffee is best enjoyed to the soft splash of oars and seasonal sightings of the Rivermaid ferry gliding between Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

A second balcony, off the top-floor sitting room, frames a postcard-perfect sweep of the Kingsbridge estuary and devon countryside beyond. Here, a chilled glass of wine and the sunset’s slow descent are the only agenda you’ll need after your busy day exploring this beautiful Devon coastline.

The ground floor hosts the principal bedroom, a calming space with water views and a sleek en-suite wet room. A further double bedroom sits just opposite, alongside a stylish family bathroom, all finished with underfoot comfort and thoughtful touches - including White Company toiletries and hotel-quality linens.

Upstairs, on the first floor, a third double bedroom features an en-suite shower room, while the second floor offers a wonderfully airy sitting room for reading and relaxing and a fourth twin bedroom with flexible sleeping arrangements and its own en-suite. Whether you’re two couples seeking privacy or a family with varied needs, the layout flows intuitively for relaxed, generous living.

Thoughtful details throughout- from the Nespresso machine to a utility cupboard with washer and dryer - make 3 The Boatyard as functional as it is refined.

Tucked along the tidal waters of the Kingsbridge Estuary, 3 The Boatyard became our perfect little pocket of peace - a sleek, light-filled bolthole that wrapped us in waterside calm from the moment we stepped through the door. Mornings began on the slipway, paddleboards underarm, drifting silently through mirrored waters toward Salcombe as the estuary slowly came to life. Herons took flight, sunlight danced on the tide, and the world felt hushed and ours alone. By evening, after days of gentle adventure and estuary air, we wandered across to the Crabshell for sundowners and seafood, laughter spilling out onto the terrace with cold glasses in hand and stories shared as the sky blushed gold.

Kingsbridge Travel

How to get to Kingsbridge Kingsbridge is a beautiful Devon town in a stunning location, sitting at the head of the Salcombe estuary (actually a ria) this charming market town is loved by locals and visitors alike - and it just keeps giving! Think independent local shops, great deli cafes, award-winning restaurants and the beautiful quay with its moorings, popular with stand-up paddleboarders. The town has regular monthly Farmers’ markets, arts and crafts markets in the town hall and some newly emerging antique shops. So, you’ve booked your luxury holiday home with Finest Stays and are considering how to get to Kingsbridge, here’s a quick rundown of Kingsbridge travel. Flying to Kingsbridge Fly into Exeter or Bristol airports; You can fly into Exeter from Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Guernsey, Dublin, Belfast  City, Jersey, Isles of Scilly and numerous European cities. Pick up a hire car and drive to Kingsbridge, about 45 miles. Arrive at Bristol airport (108 miles) and pick up a hire car or get the train from Bristol to Totnes then get a taxi to Kingsbridge or hop on the 164 bus.    Driving to Kingsbridge Travelling from Wales, Midlands and the North, drive down to Exeter on the M5. From London, you can either come along the M4 and join the M5 at Bristol or take the M3/A303/A30 route and join the M5 at Exeter. The M5 converges into the A38 where you take the right-hand lane for Haldon Hill. Kingsbridge is easily accessed from this dual carriageway which links Plymouth and Exeter. Continue along the road with the slopes of Dartmoor on your right until you reach signs for Totnes and Kingsbridge, the slip road to your left takes you onto the A384. You don’t drive through Totnes town (but worth a visit during your stay), instead follow the A381 signposted for Dartmouth and Kingsbridge. The drive from Bristol will take a couple of hours and from London around 4.5 hours depending on traffic.   Kingsbridge by Train Totnes is just 13 miles from Kingsbridge and it’s the nearest railway station with regular trains running from London Paddington, the North, Wales and Birmingham. The journey time from Bristol is 2 hours and it’s a swift 3 hours(or thereabouts) from London Paddington. On arriving at Totnes station you can pick up a taxi, the fare is around £26 and it’s about a half an hour ride to Kingsbridge. Taxi Numbers During busy times we recommend pre-booking your cab as the taxi rank at Totnes can get quite busy with travellers waiting for their onward journey.
