Ferry Cottage Overview
Cradled in one of Salcombe’s most coveted waterside settings, Ferry Cottage is a postcard-perfect escape where the rhythm of the tides shapes every moment. Just steps from the water’s edge, the cottage’s private gate invites you to dip your paddleboard into the estuary, launch a boat, or hop aboard the little ferry nearby to the golden beaches opposite - sun-drenched and gloriously secluded.
Here, estuary life unfolds in slow, sun-warmed chapters. Mornings are made for gliding across still waters, and afternoons for sandy toes and salty swims across the bay. Every return to the cottage feels like a homecoming - whether by boat, beach, or coastal path.
A spacious terrace hugs the cottage, providing the perfect spot for long al-fresco breakfasts, barbecued seafood suppers, and evening drinks as the tide slips quietly by. Just a short wander away, Salcombe’s charming harbour tempts with its artisan bakeries, harbourside cafés, and boutique stores.
Inside, Ferry Cottage blends relaxed coastal style with effortless comfort. Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and dining area is the heart of sociable living - light-filled and well-equipped, with a farmhouse-style table for family breakfasts and convivial suppers. Doors open directly onto the terrace, blurring the line between indoors and out.
Upstairs, the first-floor sitting room offers a peaceful retreat with panoramic estuary views and a woodburner-effect fire for snug evenings after long days on the water. A secret balcony, tucked just off the lounge, offers a magical perch for quiet morning coffees and contemplation or nightcaps under the stars.
Two super king bedrooms promise rest and retreat, both styled in soft, calming tones and boasting those all-important estuary views. Two modern shower rooms complete the layout, offering comfort and privacy for families or friends sharing.
And your four-legged companions? They’re just as welcome. With shoreline adventures, ferry crossings, and fireside snoozes all on the agenda, Ferry Cottage is a true slice of coastal heaven - for everyone.
A rare waterside sanctuary where paddleboards launch from your doorstep, beach days start with a ferry hop, and the beauty of the estuary wraps around you at every turn.
